OUR TREATMENTS

INVISALIGN

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment used to straighten teeth, close gaps and adjust overbites. Invisalign aligners are designed as a clear alternative to metal braces for kids, teens and adults. The main advantage of Invisalign is that they are removable.

Therefore they can be removed prior to eating which results in better oral health. Also, Invisalign treatment is more comfortable and less intrusive. Compared to the other orthodontic treatments such as braces, invisalign treatments are more advantageous.

 BRACES

PITTS 21 BRACKET SYSTEM

Pitts 21 uses the latest in braces technology by securing the bracket to the wire using a frictionless sliding door. This leads to faster treatment times, exceptional comfort, and the most beautiful smiles. Compared to traditional braces,  Pitts 21 bracket placement is closer to your gums, resulting in a beautiful broad 12-tooth smile that follows the curvature of your lower lip,  improving facial aesthetics, and reducing dark corridor in the corners of the  mouth.

TWO PHASE TREATMENT

During phase one or early treatment, perfectly straight teeth is not a priority since the majority of these teeth will fall out anyway. The primary goal during this phase of treatment is widening the jaws for incoming adult teeth with expanders. Issues with the alignment of teeth such as cross bites, overbites, underbites and overcrowding can be fixed during the time when a child has both baby teeth and adult teeth simultaneously. This is also known as mixed definition.

Phase II: Phase II treatment is usually commenced when most adult teeth are in place and the twelve year molars are about to erupt, generally as early as eleven years of age and done throughout the teen or adult years. A full mouth of braces or Invisalign are used depending on the individual and treatment time can vary

ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCES:

HERBST:

A Herbst appliance is used to fix an overjet bite, typically meant for younger, growing patients. When a child has an overjet, (meaning that the top teeth stick out too far compared to the lower teeth) a Herbst appliance might be the recommended option for treatment. A Herbst appliance is most effective when a patient is still growing, and has a retrusive lower jaw.

TADS:

Temporary Anchorage Devices are placed in the extra-alveolar or alveolar bone to provide orthodontic anchorage and removed as soon as they are through with their role in the treatment plan. These devices are made of titanium alloy or usually, titanium and inserted through gingiva with the application of a manual driver. They are also valuable for the intrusion of anterior teeth for the correction of a deep overbite.

EXPANDER:

An expander is a special orthodontic appliance that can widen a patient’s narrow upper jaw and help correct their cross bite if they have one. This appliance works by gently stretching the upper mid-palatal jaw suture, causing new bone to grow and stabilize the expansion. To widen, patients will be given a key to turn their expander once a day. These are temporary, and are generally worn for approximately 4-6 months.
